I am Slater Davis--father, and grandfather and follower of Jesus Christ. I was a draftee into the U.S. Army in 1970, ending up in Vietnam late in that year. I spent most of 12 months with two different infantry units in I Corps of South Vietnam. Today, I am retired after 46 years with Ma Bell, and I have written of those eventful months from 1970 and 1971 in my book, 349 Days. 

I never planned to write a second book, but it has happened. My High School English teacher, Clara Lovin, would be pleased. My second book is about one of the infantry units I served with during my tour in Vietnam. I titled it In The Shadow of Heroes.  Learn more about both books.
